Faith...What is it?
What is faith? How do you get it? How do you keep it?
Faith (n); Confidence in what we hope for and assurance in what we do not see.
Simply put, faith is how we put our trust in God. Whether we have faith over small things or for the things that seem impossible, the common factor is that we trust God to bring them to fruition.
We’ve all heard it before; “faith is like a muscle, you have to exercise it frequently to get the best results.” This means, make faith a part of your everyday life. We can do this through prayer, fasting and trusting God for even the littlest of things. When we cultivate a life of truly TRUSTING God, this is how our faith grows. When you understand that he will supply your every need and give you the desires of your heart, it is THEN that you are able to make your requests known to him and not go back and worry about if he will fulfill his promises.
We also know that even a “no” from God means that there is something better that he has in mind for us. Faith is truly an act of letting God be God.
As mentioned above, faith is something that needs to be exercised often to keep it. When you learn to put your requests in Gods hands and leave it, THAT’S faith. When you learn to say “God I trust you,” THAT’S faith. When you learn to say “I know your plans are better than my own,” THAT’S faith.
Faith is more than a simple cliche’ saying, it’s a relationship; and it’s never too late to start growing it.
